Privacy policy

The short version
Your app content isn't sent to BitSize. Scribs and Benchlist can store and sync content through your own iCloud account. My apps have no ads or tracking. If you contact me, I receive what you send; visiting this website may also generate technical logs.

Who this policy covers

This policy covers the bitsize.me website and every app published by Mikael Cedergren, an independent developer based in Sweden — including all apps distributed through Apple's App Store. One policy, everything I make. For readers who like the formal terms: under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the data controller is Mikael Cedergren, reachable at the address at the bottom of this page.

My apps

My apps store content on your device. Scribs and Benchlist also use Apple's iCloud service for sync, as described below. You don't need a BitSize account; iCloud and App Store purchases use your Apple Account.

  • No ads or tracking. My apps don't include usage analytics, third-party crash-reporting SDKs, advertising identifiers, or fingerprinting.
  • Device backups are separate from sync. App data may also be included in backups you configure, such as iCloud Backup. Apple's terms and your backup settings apply.
  • Apple handles purchases. Apple processes App Store payments. Apps use Apple's purchase information to unlock features and restore purchases. I don't receive your payment card details. Apple also provides sales reports to developers.
  • Apple may provide diagnostics. Depending on your Apple sharing settings, Apple may make app diagnostics and usage information available to developers. This is separate from analytics built into an app and is governed by Apple's privacy terms.

Super Bump

Your bumps and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone. Notifications are scheduled on your device. Super Bump does not use iCloud sync or send your bumps and preferences to BitSize.

Scribs

Scribs stores your writing on your Mac. With the paid unlock and iCloud sync enabled, your saved Scribs — including their text, colours, and creation and modification dates — sync through your private iCloud storage across Macs using the same Apple Account. This content is sent to Apple's iCloud service, not to BitSize.

You can turn iCloud sync off in Scribs settings. Turning it off stops sync; it does not delete content already stored in iCloud.

Benchlist

Benchlist stores your properties, rooms, measurements, notes, and photos on your iPhone and, with the paid upgrade, syncs them through your private iCloud storage when available. This content is sent to Apple's iCloud service, not to BitSize. iCloud availability depends on your Apple Account and device settings.

Your iCloud content

BitSize does not have access to the content in your private iCloud storage. Apple operates iCloud under its privacy policy and iCloud terms. Manage your content in the app and your iCloud storage in Apple's settings. Turning off sync or uninstalling an app should not be treated as deleting its iCloud content or backups.

This website

Every tool on bitsize.me runs in your browser.

  • Whatever you type, paste, or upload is processed on your machine and never sent to me — passwords generated, QR codes rendered, gradients created, and placeholder text generated.
  • No analytics, no cookies, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts, fonts, or CDNs. The site is entirely self-contained.
  • The web server may record technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, and browser type. This information can be personal data. I use it to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website, not for advertising or profiling.

When you contact me

If you email me, I receive your email address, any name you provide, and the contents of your message and attachments. I use this information to respond and help with your request. Only send app content or screenshots you are comfortable sharing, and leave out passwords and payment details.

Support correspondence is handled through my email provider. It is separate from the content stored privately in your apps or iCloud account.

Why I process personal data

I process support correspondence and website logs for my legitimate interests in answering requests and keeping the website working securely. I keep this information only as long as needed for those purposes or to meet legal obligations. I do not use it for advertising or sell it.

Other services

Apple provides iCloud and App Store services, and my email provider processes support correspondence. If you follow a link to another service, such as a donation page, that service's privacy policy applies to your use of it.

Children

My apps do not include advertising or tracking for children or adults. If you believe a child has sent me personal information that should be removed, contact me.

Your rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, restrict its use, or object to its processing. Contact me about information I hold, such as support correspondence. I cannot access or delete content held only on your device or in your private iCloud storage on your behalf.

You can also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. In Sweden, this is IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten).

Changes to this policy

I update this policy when my apps or data practices change and revise the date above. The current version always lives at bitsize.me/privacy-policy.
